Happy Easter!

 This week has been an exciting week for me at Crib Point Primary School. I have been teaching all day and we worked on Easter activities! I also started driving to and from school. This has been an exciting adventure as Australians drive on the opposite side of the road! Here are some pictures and videos from this week! Enjoy!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Hello all! I am on my second week of school at Crib Point Primary School and it has been a blast! One neat thing I did this week was that I worked with the Garden Club. They plant things during recess time. They got to taste their own tomatoes today.

So, as you can see their classroom is pretty large! They have lots of student work being shown around for parents to see. Here are some pictures of the land of where I am living. It is gorgeous!

Meeting my class!

Wow! What a day! Today I met my preppys (Aka: Kindergartners). I also got to tour the school and learn about their day. We have 28 students in the classroom and one teachers aid. This makes for a very busy day! The students first have P & P which is like a morning gym class. They then do reading groups and then math. Everything is very hands on! We also have two snacks before lunch. The students eat lunch in their classroom. Another shocking fact about their school day is that they have two recesses before lunch. Their school day also doesn't start until 9:00 am. Hopefully I will find my camera to take pictures tomorrow! My second grade students might be surprised to know that the class also has a pet. However they have three pet lizards! I(I hope Paco is doing well!)

The town that I am living in is called Crib Point. It is a relatively small town, but it's very close to the beach! When I arrived safely to Melbourne we went to the beach for a nice walk. The weather over here is very warm! I also received some Australian money, which I was very surprised to find out was plastic! I will update more when I can! Thanks for reading :)

Dear Students & Followers,

It's so hard to believe that today is my last day with you at St. A's! Tomorrow I will be flying to Melbourne, Australia to teach a group of kindergarteners. I will be leaving at 3:00 pm from Chicago and I will arrive around 11:00 am on Monday morning! The flights will take about 20 hours. On this blog I will be updating on all of the expierences I will have throughout my journeys for my students and family members. I hope you enjoy learning about Australia through my blog!
